Transport

Wheelchair transport services under the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) provide safe and accessible transportation for people who use wheelchairs. These services help individuals get to appointments, run errands, and participate in community activities.

The NDIS can fund transport assistance if you have difficulty using public transport due to your disability. This includes access to wheelchair-accessible taxis and other specialised transport options to ensure you can travel comfortably and independently.

Engaged Support Services offers Transport Services for participants who cannot rely on late or 'no-show" Taxi's anymore, using our late model Toyota Welcab Van. 

 

Having acquired this van for specialist services, under the NDIS funding Price guide, the price of transport in this vehicle is a little greater than a normal vehicle due to the type of vehicle it is. ESS do not charge the full amount but do bill higher than the 1.00 per Klm rate. This is not billed to you, but rather comes out of your plan, when an agreement is reached with the participant, Coordinator and ourselves.

The Director of ESS is now also an accredited Public Passenger Vehicle Operator with Transport Tasmania, and as such ensures the maintenance and cleanliness of the Van at all times.

Our Staff are the drivers, so no longer will you have to rely on just a driver, you will now be transported by a Support Worker with experience and training in disabilities and manual handling, giving them a unique insight into your needs when travelling.
